Road Works

Specially curated to explore the story of the Great Eastern Highway and its importance to the Hills Community, this exhibition features works by some of Western Australia’s leading visual artists. Although a familiar feature of our local environment, the artworks in this exhibition promise to shed new light on the highway’s possible meanings and significance.

Road Works presents many never before seen artworks, specially commissioned for this show and includes works by Hans Arkeveld, Michael Arnold, Madeleine Clear, Nic Compton, Peter Dailey, Julie Dowling, Stuart Elliott, Marie Haas, Nigel Hewitt, Ben Joel, Joan Johnson, Robert Juniper, Sally Morgan, Alan Muller, Chris Reimer, Lorraine Sutherland, Linda van der Merwe and Richard Woldendorp and ‘Phase 3’ - Midland TAFE Collaborative of Denise Brown, Chriss Middleton and Di Souphandavong.

Free public floor talks with the curator will be offered each Wednesday at 2pm during the exhibition dates, or at other times by arrangement for groups.  For further information and bookings please contact the Mundaring Arts Centre on 08 9295 3991.

Road Works is proudly supported by the Department of Culture and the Arts, the Community Road Safety Grants Program in association with the Road Trauma Trust Fund and the Road Safety Council, and Darlington Estate.
